Why Consuming Organic Polenta is Beneficial For You Polenta also known as Corn Grits is made of ground cornmeal, and is the all time Italian comfort food. Organic Polenta by Food to Live is a product of USA. It is organic, kosher, raw and suitable for a vegan and vegetarian diets. Organic Yellow Corn Grits hold a collection of essential vitamins and minerals, including B Vitamins, Selenium, Magnesium, Zinc, and Folate. It also contains a good amount of protein and dietary fiber. It is low in sodium and contains no added sugars. Food to Live's Organic Yellow Polenta is so easy to incorporate into a variety of recipes. Create the infamous cornbread, cornmeal mush, fritters, biscuits, pancakes, cookies, pie-cakes, muffins, tortillas, cornmeal rolls, and more. It is delicious in combination with sweet and savory ingredients, for example salty/moist cheeses like feta or sheep cheese- Bryndza. It is often prepared in combination with Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese (see recipe below). If incorporated into sweet baked goodies, Yellow Polenta tastes wonderful with blueberries, strawberries and other berries. Polenta by itself, makes a filling, wholesome side dish. It is a great alternative to rice or potatoes. Eat it with veggies, meat, and even fish. INGREDIENTS: 1 cup Organic Polenta 4 cups water 1 tsp salt (or to taste) 2 tbsp olive oil or butter grated parmesan cheese (optional) How to Prepare Classic Polenta A wholesome side, or a filling meal on its own, this Classic Polenta is simply - delicious! INSTRUCTION: In a large saucepan, bring water and salt to boil. Slowly whisk in polenta, keep stirring until all lumps are gone. Reduce heat to low, and simmer whisking often, until polenta starts to thicken (about 5 mins). At this point, polenta mixture should still be slightly loose. Cover and cook for 30 mins, stirring every 5 mins. Once the texture is creamy, polenta is done. Turn off heat, and stir in olive oil or butter. Mix in parmesan cheese, and stir until melted. Cover and let stand for 5 mins to thicken. Add more salt if desired. Enjoy!
